Hand-burned on a rare cherry burl, this original bison piece celebrates strength, endurance, and quiet power. The natural movement of the burl grain was intentionally preserved and worked into the composition, allowing the wood’s organic character to echo the bison’s mass and presence. Each curve and contour was burned by hand, with no lasers or templates, making this a one-of-a-kind work that cannot be replicated.
The full piece measures approximately 10 inches at its widest points, with an 8.5-inch workable burn area, allowing the live character of the burl to frame the image naturally. The cherry’s warm tones deepen the contrast of the burn, enhancing texture, depth, and expression.
